Jeremy's Fatso
Although it was not a big racked-buck, this thing weighed 260 lbs. The meat was absolutely delicious as it was an alfalfa field deer.
It's a Beaut, Clark!
I have been a chukar hunter for thirty years. It wasn't only until my sons wanted to hunt big game that after a few years of prodding I decided to give it a try in 2007. I was operating on the beginner's luck principal when this one-side forky showed up. We noticed through the glasses that it didn't have a nub on the other side and was a genetic mutant that didn't need to pass on any genetic flaws is was carrying. It did weight 200 lbs with lots of tasty fat marbled in its muscle. Yum!
Nick's First Trout
Our nephew Nick was visiting when we went to Stampede and caught a ton of bass and trout. Way to go Nick!
I didn't eat the pan
You know the old saying about sage hen, cook it for hours and hours and when it's done throw away the bird and eat the pan. Not in this case as this , almost six pound bird tasted absolutely delicious. I wish I had the pic os Ellie retrieving it. She was almost hidden by this big ol' chicken!
A Rare Find
Near Gerlach I found this chukar egg in the open. The year before , I found an area near Pyramid Lake that had six chukar nests. I didn't think anything about it nor did I snap a photo. This last year NDOW put on a clinic , showed a chukar nest, and stated that it was the 39th nest that has ever been discovered. I will be going back to my spot and getting pics this Fall!

- I am an educator. I also coached at UNR for eight years in Track and field. I have coached high school, college and elite athletes for over twenty-five years. I still coach online and at a local high school. I finished fourth in the Men's Javelin in the 1984 T.A.C. Championships and competed in the 1984 United States Final Olympic Trials in Los Angeles, Ca. Although I still coach I am pursuing my hunting and especially flyfishing hobbies more than ever.
